Great location and friendly staff, more a restaurant with rooms than a hotel. There was a group of us and one of the rooms we got was the suite, very spacious and nicely decorated.
Best location. Great restaurant. Lovely choice of breakfast. Lovely clean crisp white linen and room decor. Very comfortable. Shower at nice height. Small bottles of water in the room. Access to carpark with free parking. Friendly staff. Facilitated our group to have a sing-song session in the wee hours. Perfect as a base if you have business or event in Kilkenny.
Can't fault what is available. Not a destination hotel. No real foyer or waiting/ assembly area. Very narrow so not amenable to group congregating. If I were staying longer I would have liked a kettle or coffee making facility in the room.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location!
At 6am there was noise from the heating system. No one could fix it. The room was not clean. The carpets smelled mildewed and dirty. We could never recommend this hotel. At 100 euro a night it was a rip-off
We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived in the afternoon we were asked if we wanted tea sent to our room( very nice detail). Our dinner was wonderful and again the staff were friendly and approachable. Even in the morning when we checked out, we were asked if we wanted to leave our car in their parking lot til we were ready to leave the city after doing some site seeing. Very thoughtful.
EVERYTHING!! The staff was wonderful beyond belief, and the dinner simply one of the best we have ever had, which says a lot for this traveling couple. The rooms are not huge but beautifully designed, the bed extremely comfortable, the bath lovely. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Decor was very nice, the room and bathroom were very stylish. Food in front bar was lovely. Great location.
Carpark was a bit cramped during office hours.
The hotel is in a lovely location, staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms very comfortable, and the food was brilliant would highly recommend it. Maureen Scanlan
Staff were very attentive and really could not have been better. All were aware of Gluten free dietary issues.
Everything, the food the service and especially the staff: Shane, Stephen, Paul and Yola, Rahim, Chris... It was a very special family vacation. We travelled to Ireland for the Kilkenny Arts festival in Kilkenny. Staying at Zuni hotel made our experience that much better. We stayed in Kilkenny for 10 days at this wonderful hotel.
Zuni is smart and sophisticated, but it's not too stuck up about it - not unlike Kilkenny itself. The welcome is personal and friendly and informed; the food in the restaurant lives up to its high-end reputation and the bedrooms are fine without being over-fabulous. Zuni is right in the centre of things, but just a comforting few steps removed from the main square where the night life can be a touch loud; it's hen heaven down there. There's free wi-fi and free parking around the back - very handy in a busy city where finding a spare parking space can be a chore.
Zuni is compact - there is no real public space or resident's lounge - not an issue when the weather is fine. Breakfast is served in the cafe, not in the restaurant, and is a touch on the meagre side - 'choose ONE of the following dishes' warns the menu and the breakfast coffee is served by the cup.
Location was excellent - we could walk to Kilkenny castle, shopping, and restaurants/pubs. Big room with a big bathroom - very comfortable.
Great food , lovely presentation and the best passionfruit meringue I have ever eaten, really good value for the early bird menu , great location , easy going staff.
Waitress was a bit cold , lacking that warm charm we recieved from the other staff .
Lovely small hotel with great staff, it's very central for bars, shops and the Castle. The restaurant provides stunning food at great prices.
Would have liked Tea & Coffee facilities in the room but with the cafe and restaurant down stairs this was only a mild inconvenience!
I found the location great, close to everything and parking on-site. The food was excellent (loved the tapis) and the breakfast was also top class. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was stylish. The price was very good value. Definitely go back to Zuni.
We were upgraded to a suite which was excellent. The only problem was the water was not warm first thing in the morning. But would recommend hotel.
No hot water early in the morning.
